The Training

By the end of this course, learners should understand:

  • the definition of disguised compliance; parental resistance and non-engagement
  • practical indications of disguised compliance and be better prepared, as professionals, in awareness and understanding
  • controlling behaviours within families, as they resist improvements and change
  • the effects of disguised compliance on a child at risk, or experiencing harm
  • possible actions early years professionals can take, to safeguard a child
  • the definition of ‘professional curiosity’
  • the definition of ‘respectful uncertainty’
  • good practice and strategies when dealing with disguised compliance, as an early years practitioner
  • safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility

Final Test

Once you have completed the online training, you will be able to take the final test.

  • There are 5 questions.
  • The pass rate is 80%.
  • You can take the test as many times as you need.
