Our Introduction to the EYFS 2021 course examines the new Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and the new Development Matters, both effective from September 2021. The course helps practitioners understand the aims, changes and requirements.

The Training

On completing the course, learners should understand:
• the principles and the key elements of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) 2021 
• the requirements of the Framework 
• the 7 Areas of Learning 
• the Early Learning Goals (ELGs) 
• the role of the Characteristics of Effective Teaching and Learning 
• the aims of assessments 
• the key points, as outlined in Development Matters 2020, as it supports practitioners in fulfilling the requirements of the Statutory Framework 
• there are different approaches to early years 

Final Test

Once you have completed the online training, you will be able to take the final test.

  • There are 20 questions.
  • The pass rate is 80%.
  • You can take the test as many times as you need.

It takes approximately 45 minutes to complete the entire course. You can claim one CPD hour towards your professional development.
