Special Education Needs (SEN)

Our Special Education Needs (SEN) Course provides essential insight into a number of different special needs areas in children that may be experienced by an Early Years Practitioner, including autism, dispraxia and dyslexia. The course provides advice on improving practice.

We maintain the validity of our courses, including changes to legislation, policies and procedures, by ensuring the training material is up to date.

The Training

On completing the course, learners should understand:

  • The statutory requirements and definition of SEN
  • The Children and Families Act 2014 in relation to Early Years
  • How to recognise a number of special needs areas
  • The role of the SENCO and other professionals

Final Test

Once you have completed the online training, you will be able to take the final test.

  • You will be asked 20 questions.
  • You will require an 80% pass mark.
  • You can take the test as many times as you need.
