Understanding Children’s Emotions

Our Understanding Children’s Emotions Course provides an insight to the complex world of children’s emotions. It defines what an emotion is, examines the variety of emotions and investigates the importance of an enabling environment in the early years. It looks at ways to manage emotions effectively and gives strategies to support emotional development.

The Training

On completing the course, learners will understand:

  • What an emotion is and associated language 
  • The importance of an enabling environment 
  • The variety of emotions in children, from birth to childhood; the skills needed for good management 
  • Various methods to encourage and support emotional development  
  • Emotional difficulties 
  • Contacts for help and advice 

Final Test

Once you have completed the online training, you will be able to take the final test.

  • You will be asked 20 questions.
  • You will require an 80% pass mark.
  • You can take the test as many times as you need.

It takes approximately 45 minutes to complete the entire course. You can claim one CPD hour towards your professional development.
